About Salem Presbyterian Church
Salem Presbyterian Church was founded in 1780 by Samuel Doak.
A few descendants of the founding families are still active in the life and work of Salem. Construction on the present building was begun in 1894 at a projected cost of $10,400. The first church wedding took place on December 18, 1895, even though the building was not complete. Cedar boughs were laid across the windowless openings to help keep out the cold. |
